Rutherford County --  Press Release Rutherford County Sheriff's Office: deputies with the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office were responding to reports of an individual shooting at vehicles.

Transylvania County -- Press Release Transylvania Government: Thankful for rain and all of the federal, state and interlocal resources in place to give local crews some much needed rest.  The fire is still active and a burn ban remains in place!

Haywood County --  Press Release Haywood County Emergency Services: The fire is growing at a slow, steady pace as it moves northwest, mostly through the Shining Rock Wilderness Area. PisgahtNational Forest remains closed due to the fire.

Henderson & Polk Counties --  Evening Fire Information Update Black Cove Complex March 29, 2025: Fish Hook Fire fully contained while containment increases on the Black Cove Fire. Polk County:  Currently, there are 493 personnel assigned to the Black Cove Complex as additional resources continue to arrive. Firefighting crews from across North Carolina and 14 other states are on the ground contributing to efforts.

Haywood County -- U.S Forest Service National Forests in North CarolinaEvening update for Rattlesnake Branch Fire 3/28/25 Evening update for Rattlesnake Branch Fire. A variety of firefighting actions occurred today to protect homes in the community of Cruso from the Rattlesnake Branch Fire.

Raleigh --  Press Release North Carolina Governor Stein's Office March 26, 2025: Today, on the six-month anniversary of Hurricane Helene, Governor Josh Stein visited western North Carolina to honor the 106 lives lost and reaffirm his commitment to supporting the region’s full recovery.  

McDowell County -- The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Jimmy Steven Lawing, 33, of Marion, with multiple offenses, including Felony Possession of a Synthetic Cannabinoid, Felony Possession of Methamphetamine and Misdemeanor Domestic Criminal Trespass. He received no bond.
