Asheville --  Press Release Asheville Police Department: Following a thorough investigation by the Asheville Police Department and in consultation with the Buncombe County District Attorney’s Office, it has been determined that no charges will be filed in the Rankin Avenue shooting incident. We are providing a summary of the facts and circumstances that led up to this determination.

McDowell County --  Adam Lee Franklin, 41, of Marion, was charged by the McDowell County Sheriff's Office Community Impact Team with the following:

Raleigh --  North Carolina Senate Bill 153, titled the "North Carolina Border Protection Act," has passed both chambers of the General Assembly and now awaits action from Governor Josh Stein.

Raleigh --  Press Release North Carolina Governor Josh Stein's Office: Today Governor Josh Stein released the following statement on the need to protect young people by bringing order to the unregulated cannabis market:  

McDowell County --  McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 65-year-old Terry Jo Lowery of Nebo with felony Trafficking in Methamphetamine and felony Maintain a Vehicle/Dwelling/Place for Controlled Substance.

Catawba County --  A Lenior man has been arrested In connection with the mass shooting on Walnut Acres Drive.  Garon Nathaniel Killian, 20,   is charged with a single (1) count of attempted first-degree murder.

Asheville -- A man who fired a gun Friday night was taken into custody by Asheville police.  Fortunately, just property damage has been reported, and no one was hurt. 

Henderson County -- Operation Uptown Funk, a year-long investigation against a local Drug Trafficking Organization (DTO), has been completed by the Henderson County Drug Interdiction and Criminal Enforcement (DICE) unit with support from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.  

Lake Toxaway -- Press Release:  DJ's Wish, Inc., a local non-profit, is hosting a fundraising event on June 7th in Lake Toxaway, NC. Hope For Freedom Day promises a fun day to celebrate the lives saved from illicit drug deaths through education and awareness, and to honor the lives lost to fentanyl poisonings.
