WNC -- Western North Carolina is bustling as our tourist season gets into full swing. It's a time of enjoyment, naturally, but also a good moment for considering community health. 

WNC -- The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina (CFWNC) distributed six grants totaling $730,000 this week to nonprofits providing hurricane recovery services in Western North Carolina.

Waynesville --  Press Release Waynesville Police Department: Over the last 10 days, numerous bomb threats have been received and are currently under investigation.

McDowell County -- The USDA Forest Service along with the North Carolina Forest Service, McDowell County and Woodlawn Fire Department are responding to the Bee Rock Creek Fire. 

Henderson County -- The Henderson County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division – David Squad was called to an allegation of domestic violence at a home in the Mountain Home neighborhood on the evening of Monday, April 14, 2025.

McDowell County --  Northern McDowell County is home to the rugged area Bee Rock Creek Fire, which is burning south of Wild Acres Road and north of Armstrong Creek Road.  

McDowell County --  Justin Trent Arrowood, 35, of Marion, was charged by the McDowell County Sheriff's Office with two charges of felony intimidation of a witness.  A $25,000 secured bond was given to him. 

Asheville -- Patrol officers from the Asheville Police Department are investigating a single-vehicle accident that happened this morning and left a pedestrian dead.

McDowell County --  Martha Elizabeth Fender, 54, of Marion, was charged with felony larceny by the McDowell County Sheriff's Office.  She was given a $1,000 secured bail.
