McDowell County --  The McDowell County Sheriff's Office Community Impact Team accused Marion resident Wesley Burton, 37, and Old Fort resident Casey Robinson, 32, with numerous drug-related charges.

On June 18, the vehicle driven by Burton was stopped for a traffic infraction in the Old Fort neighborhood on Wednesday, June 18.  Robinson was a passenger.
Following a check of the vehicle, fentanyl (8.9 grams) and drug paraphernalia were found to be trafficking quantities.

Charges:
 • Heroin or opium trafficking (2 charges each)
 • Possession of a Schedule 1 controlled substance with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver one count each
 • One count of felony possession of a Schedule 1 controlled substance
 • Misdemeanor Drug Paraphernalia Possession (1 count each)
A felony charge of Maintaining a Vehicle, Dwelling, or Place for Controlled Substance was also brought against Robinson.  A $100,000 secured bond was established for her.
Because Burton was already on pretrial release, he was not granted a bond.

Editor's Note: A  criminal charge is an accusation, by law, a person accused of a crime is innocent until proven in a court of law.
