Asheville Police Investigating Fatal Shooting

Asheville --  A shooting on Rankin Avenue that claimed one man's life just after midnight is being investigated by the Asheville Police Department. On June 1st, at approximately 12:07 a.m., officers arrived at Rankin Avenue close to College Street to look into gunfire reports.

The next of kin has been informed Andy Garcia Porras (05/25/1999) was found dead  upon arrival. 

Stray gunfire injured a number of uninvolved spectators.  One victim's condition is stable after being taken to Mission Hospital.  Following minor graze injuries, the remaining individuals were treated on the spot and released.

Detectives have identified persons of interest and are continuing to follow up on leads.
