Asheville --  A vital East Asheville corridor is finally set to reopen. After six months of closure due to extensive damage caused by Helene in September 2024, Swannanoa River Road (N.C. 81) will reopen to traffic on Friday afternoon, April 4, 2025.

McDowell County --  The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office Community Impact Team charged 69-year-old Sandra McKinney Capps of Marion with felony Possession of Methamphetamine. She was given a secured bond of $5,000.

Asheville --  A man was taken into custody by Asheville Police on Monday night in relation to an armed robbery that occurred at a grocery store in west Asheville.

WNC --  Rainfall across Western North Carolina over the weekend has provided much-needed relief in the fight against multiple wildfires that have burned thousands of acres in the region.

Avery County --  Authorities believe they have located the remains of a camper who went missing during the devastating flooding caused by Hurricane Helene in late September 2024.
