Boone -- Town of Boone Police report on Tuesday, at around 12:32 AM, the Watauga County 911 Emergency Communications Center received a call about someone displaying a weapon outside of 489 W King Street, specifically at Boone Saloon.
November 10, 2023; Poplar Drive Fire in Henderson County is 434 acres and is 30% contained.
Raleigh -- November 9, 2023: On Wednesday, Gov. Roy Cooper officially announced a state of emergency due to the continuing wildfires in Western North Carolina and the drought conditions over the whole state.
Raleigh -- November 8, 2023: Due to increased fire risk, the N.C. Forest Service has issued a ban on all open burning and has canceled all burning permits for Alexander, Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Buncombe, Caldwell, Catawba, Haywood, Iredell, Lincoln, Madison, Mecklenburg, Mitchell, Watauga, Wilkes, and Yancey counties effective 5 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 8, until further notice.
Asheville -- November 8, 2923: Officers from the Asheville Police Department (APD) promptly arrived at the 270 block of Deaverview Road at around 6:02 p.m. Saturday in order to investigate a reported incident involving a gunshot wound.
