North Carolina -- October 29, 2024: The honor of supplying the White House Christmas tree for 2024 has gone to Cartner’s Christmas Tree Farm, located in Avery County, North Carolina.

Known for its high-quality Fraser firs, this family-run farm was awarded the prestigious title of Grand Champion at the National Christmas Tree Association's contest. The win not only reflects their dedication to cultivating beautiful, iconic trees but also brings national recognition to Avery County’s storied tradition of tree farming.

Owned by the Cartner brothers—David, Sam, and Jim—the farm has been a long-standing pillar in the community, producing top-tier Fraser firs with the help of farm manager Ronnie Beam. This October, a team from the White House carefully selected a tree from the Cartner farm to be featured in the Blue Room during the holiday season. The chosen Fraser fir will be harvested on November 20, after which it will be presented to the First Lady as part of an annual White House tradition

North Carolina’s Fraser firs are highly valued for their symmetrical shape, strong branches, and rich green color, making them a popular choice for the holiday season. This marks yet another occasion where a North Carolina-grown tree will be prominently displayed at the nation’s capital, adding to the state’s legacy of producing celebrated Christmas trees for the White House.

In addition to providing the White House tree, Cartner’s success highlights Avery County’s booming tree industry, which benefits from the region’s cool mountain climate and ideal growing conditions for Fraser firs. This industry not only supports local economies but also brings national attention to the area’s agricultural heritage.

For Cartner’s Christmas Tree Farm, this is a moment of pride, representing not only a family’s hard work but also a community’s dedication to quality and tradition. The entire nation will soon witness the result of their efforts as they celebrate the holidays with a centerpiece tree from the heart of North Carolina
