Rutherford County -- September 17, 2024: Rutherford County Sheriff's Office Press Release: The Spindale Police

Department has received numerous complaints and tips regarding 162 Grose St in relation to apparent drug activity. Assistance was requested for the Tri-City Violent Crimes Task Force and an investigation was opened into the residence which lasted over two months. After hours of surveillance and numerous vehicle stops where narcotics were seized, a search warrant was executed on 9/16/2024.

During the search warrant, 10 subjects were located inside the residence and detained while the residence was searched with 4 subjects ultimately being arrested. While detectives were at the detention facility, members of C-Crew of the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office Detention center located an unusual object on one of the female arrestee body scans, a further search by those employees yielded methamphetamine and pills, that were hidden inside the body cavity of the female arrestee. Tri-City VCTF would like to thank members of C-Crew for their dedication and high level of training in this area and because of this, narcotics were unable to enter the jail system.

As a result of the search warrant, the following narcotics were seized:
3.7 Grams of Pressed Pills (Heroin/Fentanyl)
4 Dosage Units of MDMA (Ecstasy)
20cc of Liquid Methamphetamine
3.5 Grams of Hydrocodone Pills (Opiates)
18.7 Grams of Crystal Methamphetamine

The Tri-City Violent Crimes Task Force would like to thank the citizens who reached out about the ongoing problems in their neighborhood. We hope this shows that local law enforcement is listening to these complaints and will continue to make every effort to prosecute those involved in the illicit drug trade.
As the investigation continues, more charges may follow. All bonds are set by judicial officials.
