Asheville -- October 14, 2024: Asheville Police Department: Working in collaboration with city schools preparing to reopen, some City distribution sites will be relocated this week.

The Lucy Herring Elementary distribution site will close at 7 pm today (Mon. Oct. 14) and will be relocated to 980 Brevard Road (former K-Mart and current At Home Store) parking lot. This location will open at 9 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Additional water and meal distribution sites are open from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. and are located at: Pack Square Park, Asheville Middle School, Shiloh Community Center, and Oakley Elementary. Stay tuned for future location changes.

Distribution sites continue to provide bottled water for drinking, water for flushing and meals ready to eat (MREs). Shiloh Community Center no longer has bulk water for flushing since water service has returned to this area.

In addition to these sites, we continue to distribute water, food, and supplies directly to focused areas of need.

As in days past, we encourage the community to bring their own containers for bulk water. A limited number of containers are available at each site.
