Asheville Human Society Animals Flown to Safe Space

Asheville -- September 30, 2024: Asheville Human Society: UPDATES: BISSELL Pet Foundation is currently evacuating

almost of the animals in our shelter and flying them to safe places near Winston-Salem.

Our animals will be moved to safe locations with electricity, running water, and working infrastructure. Not only will our animals be safe, the emergency evacuation will give us breathing room and allow us to plan for how we can best serve our community during this crisis and the long recovery.

We cannot even begin to express our gratitude to BISSELL Pet Foundation, Forsyth Humane Society, and the many others who stepped up during this trying time!
We are working with spotty internet and cellular service, so please be patient with us as we share updates—and please keep an eye on our social media for additional ways you can help!
