There are 967 customers without power reported by Duke Energy.
These numbers will vary as crews work to restore power.
We are working to gather rainfall reports.
IMPORTANT:
Hurricane Helene is still approaching the Florida coast, so we have significant rainfall and winds that will approach our area later today. Flooding, mudslides, tree falls, and other issues are possible as Helene approaches our region due to the saturated ground from the rainfall we have already received.
THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION. Do not travel unless absolutely necessary. We will post updates as they become available.
Please share rainfall reports, any photos you may have taken, and other details at info@mitchellcountync.gov.
