Black Mountain Police Search for Man in Kidnapping Attempt
Mountain Police Department are requesting the public’s assistance in the investigation of an attempted Kidnapping that occurred on September 17, 2024.
On 9/17/2024, at approximately 10:05 pm, Officers of the Black Mountain Police Department were dispatched to the Shell Station located at 202 NC #9 Hwy. in response to the report of an attempted Kidnapping.
During the incident, the suspect was reported to be hiding in the victim’s vehicle and had threatened to harm her if she did not keep driving. The victim pulled into the Shell Station at the intersection of NC #9 and Vance Ave. where she got the attention of an employee. Once in the parking lot, the suspect jumped out of the victim’s vehicle and fled on foot.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with long hair, red jacket and tennis shoes. He was last seen in the area of South Ridgeway Ave. near E. State St. The Black Mountain Department is currently working with additional state agencies to complete a more detailed composite drawing of the suspect.
