Marion -- August 27, 2024: On Monday, a resident of Marion voluntarily surrendered himself to the Henderson County

Sheriff's Office, two days after a reported incident of theft at a convenience store in Marion.

As per a news release from the Marion Police Department, Anthony Brian Redd, was identified as a person of interest in a reported robbery that occurred at Samir's Convenience Store No. 4 on August 23, just before 6 a.m. This identification was made based on video security footage.
According to the announcement, Redd made the decision to surrender himself in Henderson County on August 25th. Redd contacted the authorities by telephone. The Henderson County Sheriff's Office deputies promptly arrived at the specified location and apprehended him without any complications, as stated in the report.

Redd is facing a single charge of common law robbery and is presently detained in the Henderson County Detention Center with a secured bond of $12,500.

As to the investigation from the Marion Police Department, Redd visited the store on Friday morning and requested the cash from the register from the cashier. The clerk disbursed a sum of $115 from the cash register to him, and Redd left the store on foot. Authorities suspect that he had a nearby vehicle, which he then used to depart from the store. According to the announcement, Redd did not have any weapons.
