Asheville -- August 15, 2024: Asheville Police arrested a man wanted for probation violations and multiple open

warrants on drug and gun charges Tuesday afternoon.


While conducting proactive enforcement, APD detectives attempted to make contact with Kwantez Marquis Tobe around
4:21 p.m. on August 13. Tobe had open warrants for failing to appear in court, including charges related to pre-trial release violations. As they made contact with him, he fled on foot but was apprehended shortly after. During the arrest, he was found to be in possession of drugs and a gun.

-Charged: Possession of Firearm by Felon

-Charged: Carrying Concealed Gun
-Charged: Resisting Public Officer

Tobe was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under NO BOND (ineligible for release) by a magistrate due to the Pretrial Integrity Act.
