Asheville -- July 19, 2024: Press Release Asheville Police Department Detectives have identified and charged two

people in the recent Orbeez-style water pellet gun assaults targeting pedestrians.

Through strategic technological investments and innovative use of License Plate Readers (LPR) and surveillance video analysis, APD has identified and charged Darius Ramont Brown (07/10/1992) and David Wayne Faubus (06/19/1993) with Assault on a Female, Simple Assault, and Misdemeanor Cruelty to Animals.

"We commend the efforts of our detectives and the effectiveness of our technological resources in swiftly identifying the suspects,” said Chief Mike Lamb, Asheville Police Department.”We urge any additional victims or witnesses who have not yet come forward to contact us immediately."
