APD Arrest Two on Drug Charges, Seize Two Handguns
Asheville -- July 12, 2024: Detectives and officers of the Asheville Police Department apprehend two individuals on drug
and gun charges during proactive enforcement. This action was taken in response to community complaints regarding drug activity in Carrier Park and adjacent neighborhoods.
Detectives made contact with Colton Tyler Fry (08/13/1993) near the 200 block of Amboy Road around 1:26 p.m. on July 9th. During the arrest, Fry was found to be in possession of drugs and two concealed firearms and was taken into custody without incident.
Later in the afternoon, detectives also arrested Zachary Lindsey Wynn near the 400 block of Haywood Road and charged him with Trafficking in Opium or Heroin by Possession and by Transport.

-S&W M&P 45 pistol
-12.60g of fentanyl

-Felony Possession Schedule II
-Simple Possession Schedule VI
-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Fry was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $5,000 (or $500 to a bondsman) secured bond issued by a magistrate and has since been released.

-Trafficking in Opium or Heroin by Transport
Wynn was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under NO BOND (ineligible for release) by a magistrate due to the Pretrial Integrity Act.
