The Asheville Police Department is now conducting an investigation into a gunshot that occurred in Asheville

early Sunday morning, resulting in the death of one individual.

APD Patrol Officers were dispatched to an apartment located in the 300 block of Long Shoals Road at around 6 a.m. on June 16th. Upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless body of a male who had suffered a gunshot wound. The release of the shooting victim's identity is being delayed until Detectives finish notifying the next of kin.

Criminal Investigations Division Detectives and Forensic Technicians are actively investigating with the assistance of the N.C. Office of the Chief Medical Examiners.

Asheville Police Department Detectives are releasing the name of the decedent from Sunday morning's homicide in south Asheville following next of kin notification.
Terry Lee Landrum Sr (01/22/1975) has been identified as the man found deceased earlier this morning; next of kin has been notified.
Asheville Police Department Criminal Investigations Division is continuing to investigate.

This is the 4th homicide this year in the City of Asheville.
