APD Ask for Public Help to ID Gunman
Asheville -- May 31, 2024: The Asheville Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in identifying
a gunman who shot into an occupied home early Sunday morning. Thankfully, no one was injured; only property damage has been reported at this time.
Officers responded to a residence on Hibernia Street to investigate reports of a gun discharge around 1:04 a.m. on May 26th. When officers arrived, the suspect was no longer on scene. While canvassing the area officers located a residence that had been struck by gunfire and 17 shell casings. One of the bullets entered the residence, and into an interior wall of a child's bedroom.
