Asheville Police Seek Public’s Help Locating Armed Robber

Asheville -- May 11, 2024: Press Release: The Asheville Police Department is asking for the public’s help following an
armed robbery in West Asheville. 

APD Detectives are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on May 9th at around 9:53 p.m. at a convenience store
in the 200 block of Amboy Road. Surveillance video showed a masked man entering the store brandishing a gun. He left with approximately $400 in cash and other items, then fled on foot. The cashier described the gunman as a black male, tall, large build, wearing a charcoal grey/dark hoodie, and brandishing a silver and black handgun.
