Buncombe County -- May 1, 2024: Press Release: Buncombe County Sheriff's Office Buncombe County Man Sentenced
to 22 to 36 Months

On April 29, 2024, Brandon Lee Kerley pled guilty to:

Two counts of Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle
Two counts of Felony Larceny
One count of Larceny of a Motor Vehicle
One count of Felony Possession of Stolen Goods
One count of Identity Theft
One count of misdemeanor larceny
He has been sentenced and will serve between 22 to 36 months in prison. Upon release, he will serve 36 months of supervised probation and will be responsible for $15,793.54 in restitution to the victims.

In October of 2023, Detectives with the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office began investigating Mr. Kerley based on community concerns and tips in reference to multiple thefts in the Oteen community of Buncombe County.

During the course of this investigation, Detectives recovered more than $30,000 in stolen motorcycles. Kerley fled from Deputies and Detectives numerous times putting innocent lives at risk.
