APD Arrest Man for Trafficking Fentanyl
Asheville -- April 3, 2023: During Tuesday afternoon's crime prevention efforts in the west Asheville area,
detectives and officers from the Asheville Police Department collaborated to apprehend a man for fentanyl trafficking.
While conducting crime prevention on Haywood Road, officers made contact with Rashied Olajuwon Richardson at 2:52 p.m. on April 2. During the investigation, Richardson was found to be in possession of a trafficking amount of drugs.

-Trafficking in Opium or Heroin by Possession (Level II)
-Trafficking in Opium or Heroin by Transport (Level II)
-Felony Possess Schedule II
-Maintain a Vehicle for Controlled Substances
Seized:
-19.91g of fentanyl
-1.29g of crack cocaine
-7.59g of marijuana
Richardson was booked into Buncombe County Detention Facility under NO BOND (ineligible for release) due to the Pretrial Integrity Act.
