Asheville -- March 27, 2024: Following up on an investigation that began in January in South Asheville,

detectives and officers from the Asheville Police Department apprehended a man on Monday afternoon. The individual was wanted on open warrants for narcotics and weapons crimes.

Kenneth Emanuel Perry (01/26/1975) was wanted on multiple outstanding warrants for narcotics trafficking and unlawful gun possession when authorities encountered him on March 25 while enforcing crime prevention measures in the South Asheville Area.

Perry was taken into custody on the following:
Warrant: Possession of Firearm by Felon
Warrant: Possession of a Stolen Firearm
Warrant: Trafficking in Opium or Heroin
Warrant: Felony Possess Schedule II x2
Warrant: Possession With Intent Sell/Deliver Schedule VI
Warrant: Maintain a Dwelling for Controlled Substances
Warrant: Resist Officers
Warrant: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Perry was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under NO BOND (ineligible for release) issued by the magistrate.

According to the Asheville Police Department, Perry’s open warrants are the result of an extensive investigation into illegal drug sales. In January, detectives were following up on community complaints when they executed a search warrant on Perry's residence. There they recovered two firearms, one of which was reported stolen. In addition to this, Perry was also found to be trafficking fentanyl.
