Police say North Carolina woman intentionally set on fire
GOLDSBORO, N.C. (AP) — A North Carolina woman is hospitalized in critical condition after she was intentionally set on fire during a domestic dispute, police said.
Officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to a call of an assault at a residence on Wednesday, news sources reported Thursday. When they arrived, officers found Latonya McCoy, 39, suffering from severe burns.
Police said in a news release that McCoy was taken to a local hospital before she was transferred to the burn unit at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
No arrests have been made in the case, and police said an investigation is underway.
