​Madison County State of Emergency Declaration 

Madison County Government has issued a mandate to cancel all public gatherings in county buildings for the next 30 days.

Community Services
Effective Monday, March 16, 2020 all Madison County Nutrition Sites will be closed for congregate meals until further notice.  Nutrition Site participants will still have the option to receive meals if they choose.  If you are a Nutrition Site participant and would like to continue receiving meals, please call the Nutrition Site you currently attend or complete the sign-up form located at each Nutrition Site. 
 

 
Cooperative Extension
Extension and non-Extension related events including any event held at the Cooperative Extension Center will be postponed until further notice.
 

 
Public Libraries
While the libraries themselves will remain open, effective Friday, March 13, all events and gatherings scheduled for our meeting rooms and outreach services will be suspended to possibly resume on April 13.
 
We will be contacting outside organizations who have scheduled activities in our facilities to reschedule them, if possible, for dates about 30 days out. The MCPL will evaluate this suspension over the next few weeks to decide whether to extend it or return to normal operating procedures.

Parks and Recreation
​1.  The 2020 Madison County Senior Games/Silver arts have been cancelled due to the COVID 19 outbreak.  Please contact Chris Maney at (828)649-3635 for further questions.
 
2.  The Beech Glen Community Building will be temporarily closed due to the COVID 19 outbreak.  Seniors will be allowed to come pick up a meal.  Questions about anything related to the center can be directed to Chris Maney at (828)649-3635 or (828)206-3849.
 

 
Solid Waste
Due to the spread of the Corona Virus Some of our local collections centers may be closed temporally during scheduled business hours. The main Landfill will remain open during its Schedule Business hours throughout this challenging time.
​Main landfill hours are Monday- Friday 8:00 to 4:30 and every Saturday 8:00 to 12:00. We will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments to our scheduled business hours based on the safety of our employees and county residents.
