Asheville Police: Driver dies from injuries in Tuesday's accident

Asheville, NC -- Jan 15, 2020:  Asheville Police Department announced the death and identity of a driver in an accident yesterday. 

At approximately 5:12 p.m. on January 14 the Asheville Police Department responded to reports of a traffic crash in the area of 125 New Leicester Highway. A vehicle attempting to make a left hand turn from Heritage Drive onto NC 63 (New Leicester Highway) was struck by a vehicle traveling north on NC 63. The driver of the vehicle attempting to make a left turn was transported to Mission Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. The driver has been identified as Kishiko Araya Adams (66), of Asheville.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
