
Police Search for Two Suspects Wanted for Larceny, Ask for Help from Public
Asheville -- August 9, 2025: The public is being asked to help the Asheville Police Department find two people who are sought on open warrants for stealing and other offenses.
There are presently five outstanding warrants for shoplifting from retail establishments in South Asheville, including two outstanding warrants for felony larceny, for Brannan Stephen Nitchman (08/15/1991).
Since 2008, Nitchman has been arrested 28 times on 64 warrants; the most recent arrest took place on July 30. Larceny After Breaking and Entering, Second Degree Trespass, Felony Obtain Property False Pretense, Felony Uttering Forged Instrument, and Felony Possession of Methamphetamine.
Two outstanding warrants for larceny and second-degree trespass are currently pending against Jesse Nathaniel Herila (10/04/1984) due to an August 1st incident at a retail establishment in south Asheville. Since 2005, Herila has been arrested 16 times on 25 warrants. Felony Larceny, Felony Possession With Intent to Sell or Deliver Heroin, Violation of Domestic Violence Protection Order, and Cruelty to Animals are among the prior offenses.
