Investigation into Death of Female Inmate at Jackson County Detention Center

Jackson County --  According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, an inmate passed away over the weekend at the Jackson County Detention

Center. 

A female inmate was discovered in distress by detention officers on Saturday morning.  Even though detention officers rendered life- saving aid, were unsuccessful.
 
Sheriff Doug Farmer has asked the State Bureau of Investigation to look into the matter in accordance with Sheriff's Office policy.  Notice has been sent to the next of kin.
