Suspect in Asheville Stabbing Arrested

Asheville -- On Wednesday, WNCTimes reported the Asheville Police were searching for the suspect in a stabbing incident. Today, APD announced in a press release the arrest of the suspect, of Richard Scott Haulman  by Woodfin Police.

Haulman was booked into the Buncombe County Detention facility under NO BOND (ineligible for release) by a magistrate due to the Pretrial Integrity Ac

The incident occurred on Apirl 22, 2025.  Through the course of the investigation, officers determined that a verbal altercation between the two men escalated when Haulman assaulted the victim with a knife.

Editor's Note: A  criminal charge is an accusation, by law, a person accused of a crime is innocent until proven in a court of law.
