
APD Search for Suspect in Stabbing Incident
Asheville -- Around 10:12 a.m. on April 22, Asheville police officers responded to a report of an armed altercation in progress in the 30 block of Wall Street.
An altercation was over when the officers arrived.
Two males who had been stabbed were being treated by emergency medical professionals on the site. Richard Scott Haulman (10/06/1970), one of the injured people who was eventually identified as the suspect, was taken to Mission Hospital but left before getting any medical attention.
Through the course of the investigation, officers determined that a verbal altercation between the two men escalated when Haulman assaulted the victim with a knife.
As a result of this investigation, Haulman has been charged with two counts of Assault With a Deadly Weapon. He currently remains at large.
Haulman is described as a white male, 54 years old, approximately 5’9” tall, and weighing 152 pounds. He has brown hair, blue eyes, facial hair, and may be wearing glasses.
