Woman in Jackson County Charged with Stabbing 2 People

Jackson County --  Jackson County Sheriff's Office: Deputies were called to the area of Tunnel Mountain Road, Sylva, North Carolina, on April 9, 2025, at around 11:30 p.m., for a verbal altercation.  

One subject is pursuing another with a knife

When officers arrived, they found two individuals who had been stabbed.   Until EMS and fire came, deputies started life-saving actions.   Deputies discovered during this period that the subject had escaped, but other responding deputies had found him on Mack Town Road. 

After receiving treatment at Mission Hospital via air, both victims have now been released.  There were no other injuries.  The following person was charged with the following when detectives and deputies finished their investigation:

Anastasia Diavatis: Assault causing death and severe injury X2
