McDowell County -- The Sheriffโ€™s Office Community Impact Team charged 34-year-old Ashley Nicole Long of Hickory with felony Possession

    of Methamphetamine and felony

    Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance. She received a secured bond of $15,000.  David Orostica, 39, of Marion was also charged,  with felony Possession of Methamphetamine; felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance, and felony Maintain a Vehicle, Dwelling or Place for Controlled Substance. He was given a secured bond of $25,000. 

    On February 27, detectives initiated a traffic stop on a black, Nissan Rogue on North Main Street in Marion. Orostica, who was the driver, was operating a vehicle with no license. 

    A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up a loaded needle with a clear liquid substance, drug paraphernalia and marijuana. 
    Orostica was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and a suspected amount of meth. On Long was found a suspected amount of meth and a substantial amount of cash.
