The City of Asheville is seeking public input on the potential future zoning of properties at/near  Kmart (Patton Avenue), Innsbruck Mall (Tunnel Road), Steinmart (Merrimon Avenue) and Walmart (Bleachery Boulevard).

RALEIGH – A record number of children, more than 3,300, across the state will be receiving lifesaving bicycle helmets through the department’s Bicycle Helmet Initiative. The program is part of ongoing efforts to reduce bicycle injuries and deaths in North Carolina.

On April 16, the Board of Commissioners unanimously approved accepting two settlements totaling more than a $250,000.The move also gets back all legal fees associated with lawsuits pursuing monies from all indicted, former employees.

Western North Carolina -- Press Release Friday April 12, 2019 -ASHEVILLE, N.C. – United States Attorney Andrew Murray announced today that law enforcement have dismantled a drug ring operating in Asheville, charging eight of its members with drug conspiracy and drug and firearm-related offenses. The 35-count criminal indictment was returned by the federal grand jury on April 2, 2019, and was unsealed today.
