Man Convicted of Drug Trafficking Sentenced to More than 5 Years in Prison
Buncombe County -- January 22, 2025: Press Release Buncombe County DA Office: On Tuesday, January 21, 2025, Timothy Austin Dolly,
29 of Alexander, pleaded guilty to two counts of felony trafficking in cocaine,
one count of felony possession with the intent to sell and distribute a controlled substance, one count of felony maintaining a place for the storage and provision of controlled substances, and one count of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Superior Court Judge Alan Z. Thornburg sentenced Dolly to serve a mandatory 70-93 month term of imprisonment and pay a $100,000 fine.
On November 6, 2023, officers with the Asheville Police Department were dispatched to Haywood Road in West Asheville in reference to an intoxicated person in open possession of a firearm. When officers arrived, they found Dolly within a vehicle in possession of a firearm and several items of drug paraphernalia. After conducting a search of the vehicle, officers located ammunition and controlled substances including approximately 229 grams of cocaine.
