Drug Trafficking Investigation Leads to Arrest of Co-conspirators
Asheville -- July 3, 2024: Press Release: Asheville Police Department detectives have arrested two individuals involved in drug trafficking at an east Asheville hotel.
A lengthy investigation into drug trafficking at a hotel near the 140 block of Tunnel Road, detectives identified and charged Brandi Yanette Haynes and Christopher Quamanie Hammett, co-conspirators working together in drug trafficking.
Detectives took Haynes and Hammett into custody on the afternoon of July 1 on Tunnel Road. During the arrest, Haynes was found to be in possession of a concealed gun and a trafficking amount of drugs. Hammett was also found to be in possession of drugs.

Haynes was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under NO BOND (ineligible for release) by the magistrate due to the Pretrial Integrity Act.
Christopher Quamanie Hammett (08/03/1990)
-Possession With Intent to Sell or Deliver Schedule II x2
-Felony Possess Schedule II
-Resist, Delay, or Obstruct
Hammett was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $50,000 (or $5,000 to a bondsman) secured bond issued by the magistrate.
