APD Arrest Suspect During Break-in
Asheville -- June 19, 2024: Asheville Police apprehended a woman while breaking into the second of two businesses Tuesday morning in east Asheville.
APD Officers responded to the 600 block of Tunnel Road around 5:45 a.m. on June 18th to investigate reports of a business break-in. When officers arrived on scene, they made contact with Rachael Lynn Stephenson (01/13/1983) and took her into custody. Stephenson was transported to Mission Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the break-ins.
During their investigation, officers determined that Stephenson had broken into the aforementioned business and a nearby second establishment. Additionally, she attempted to gain entry into an occupied security vehicle on the premises.

Stephenson was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $20,000 (or $2,000 to a bondman) secured bond issued by a magistrate.
