Asheville -- June 6, 2024: Press Release: Asheville Police arrested a man for possessing a stolen vehicle

following a collision Tuesday evening near the Biltmore Village area.

APD officers responded to a motor vehicle collision in a business parking lot near the 200 block of Hendersonville Road around 6:48 p.m. on June 4th. During the investigation, it was discovered that Christopher Jerry Michael Crook was operating a stolen vehicle and had collided with an unoccupied vehicle in the parking lot. Crook attempted to evade custody but was apprehended shortly after.

Crook and the occupant, William Harrel Hudson, both in the stolen vehicle at the time of the collision, were taken into custody. During the arrest, both were found to be in possession of illegal drugs.

-Resist Delay Obstruct

-Warrant: Possession of Stolen Motor Vehicle 

-Warrant: Damage to Property

Crook was booked into Buncombe County Detention Facility under NO BOND (ineligible for release) due to the Pretrial Integrity Act.
