APD Search for Suspect in Three Break-ins South Asheville
Asheville -- May 29, 2024: Asheville police are investigating three business break-ins that occurred over the weekend in South Asheville.
The first incident occurred at 2:52 a.m. on May 25th, when APD officers responded to a business on the 100 block of Julian Lane to investigate a break-in. When they came, the side door glass was broken, and the safe was open. A cash register was also discovered to be tampered with.
Shortly after, at about 2:59 a.m., officers arrived to investigate a break-in at a company near the 50 block of Airport Road, where a suspect broke the front glass door and entered the establishment. They were able to remove paper money from the cash drawer before escaping, leaving just change behind.
The following night, May 26th, at about 2:51 a.m., officers responded to a business alarm near the 1800 block of Hendersonville Road. When they arrived, they discovered that someone had broken through the front glass door with a cinder block to gain in. Nothing seemed to have been taken.
According to detectives, on all three occasions, the suspect forced his way into the establishments. Based on security footage, they believe the suspect is the same person. He is described as a tall man wearing a hooded sweatshirt, a mask, and white gloves.
