Asheville -- May 6, 2024: Asheville Police Officers apprehended a man suspected in a shooting at 3:09 p.m. on Sunday.

APD officers were dispatched to a State Street grocery store in response to a complaint of a gunshot wound. Officers discovered a man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen sprawled on the sidewalk in the vicinity and administered immediate medical attention to the victim until the arrival of emergency medical services.
