Missing Man in Great Smoky National Park Located

Great Smoky National Park -- April 10, 2024: This morning an announcement by GSNP was made on social media that Jacob Riggs was located.

"Riggs was found around 8 a.m. today in the vicinity of Tremont by a park visitor who recognized that he was in need of care.

The visitor brought Riggs to the Incident Command Post near the Townsend Wye. Riggs had minor injuries and exposure to weather. He was evaluated on-site and taken to a local hospital.

The National Park Service is thankful for all of the local agencies and volunteers who participated in the search."

Riggs was reported missing by the park yesterday.
