Asheville -- January 26, 2024: Asheville Police announced yesterday the partnership between their office and Hyundai.

To help with securely securing the cars impacted by the engine immobilizer problem, the Asheville Police Department has teamed with Hyundai and received steering wheel locks.

At the Asheville Police Department (100 Court Plaza, Asheville, NC 28801), officers from the Community Engagement Division will be giving out steering wheel locks. As long as locks are available, stop by the police department's front desk any time between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please bring your registration card and a photo ID for verification if your car is one of the impacted ones.
