56-Year-Old Woman in Abandoned Home Arrested on Drug Charges

McDowell County -- Vicky Ballard McKinney, 56, is accused of felonious possession of methamphetamine and breaking and entering by the McDowell County Sheriff's Office. A secured bail for $2,500 was given to McKinney.

Deputies observed strange activity at an abandoned house on Jacktown Road on September 6. After receiving several complaints about breaking and entering at this property, they got in touch with the renter, who verified that nobody should have been in or at the property. Once inside, McKinney was found and placed under arrest. When McKinney's items were searched, methamphetamine was found.
