At approximately 12:30 p.m. the Canton Middle School campus was cleared.
We are very thankful this was not a credible threat.
We want to thank everyone who assisted in securing the campus, evacuation procedures, and clearing the building.
We could not effectively handle situations like this without our law enforcement and other great emergency response partners.
Students and staff are returning to campus.
The school has made arrangements to assure students eat lunch.
We are shifting from a safety and security response to an investigation that will hopefully identify the perpetrator or perpetrators.
We take threats to student and staff very seriously. We will continue to rely on our staff, training, and excellent community partners when addressing perceived threats.
