City-County Bureau of Identification Moved to New Location in Asheville

Buncombe County -- August 2, 2025: :  Buncombe County continued progress on its long-term facilities transition plan, as part of this effort, the City-County Bureau of Identification (ID Bureau) has relocated from 52 Coxe Ave., Asheville to 59 Woodfin Place, Asheville effective Tuesday, July 29, 2025. 

The ID Bureau provides services such as concealed handgun permits and employment fingerprinting, and is open Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. For questions, please call (828) 250-4665 or email gunpermits@buncombenc.gov.
