Municipal Election Candidate Filing Now Open Through July 18

Buncombe County --  Buncombe County Government Press Release: Candidate filing for the Town of Woodfin, Town of Weaverville, and Woodfin Water & Sewer District starts July 7 at 8 a.m. and runs through noon on Friday, July 18. Please see the attachment for more details. 

The municipal election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025.

Races will include Town of Weaverville Mayor, Weaverville Town Council (3 seats), Woodfin Town Council (3 seats), Woodfin Sanitary Water & Sewer District Trustee (3 seats). Only residents within the town limits of Weaverville, Woodfin, and/or Woodfin Water & Sewer District are eligible to vote.

Please note: The Notice of Candidacy form will be completed at the office. If you will not be filing in person, please email nathaniel.speier@buncombenc.gov. 
Mark your calendar:
·         July 18: Candidate filing ends, noon
·         July 22: Newly Appointed Board of Elections swearing in ceremony, noon, Courtroom A, 60 Court Plaza
·         Last day to register to vote (municipal election): Oct. 10
·         Early Voting starts: Oct. 16
·         Nov. 4: Election Day
·         Dec. 1: Candidate filing begins for 2026 midterm elections
