McDowell County -- Detective Matt Smith with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office Community Impact Team charged Corey Alan Brasecker,

31, of Marion, with felony possession

of methamphetamine. He was given a secured bond of $10,000.

On Wednesday, February 19, Detective Smith was patrolling the Jacktown Rd. area when he spotted Brasecker exiting a vehicle at a nearby trailer park. Det. Smith was aware that Brasecker had outstanding warrants and decided to stop him. Upon exiting the vehicle, the suspect fled on foot, and a brief chase ensued.

Once apprehended, Brasecker was searched and taken into custody. On his person, detectives found a syringe containing a suspected amount of meth.
The evidence was seized and sent to the NC State Crime Lab for analysis.
