
Free WiFi Now Available on ART Transit Buses
Asheville -- Press Release The City of Asheville is excited to announce that free WiFi is now available on all Asheville Rides Transit (ART)
buses, making it easier for riders to stay
connected while on the go. This new service is part of the City’s ongoing commitment to enhancing public transportation and improving the rider experience and is implemented in partnership with and through grant funding from Land of Sky Regional Council and Dogwood Health Trust.
“Land of Sky Regional Council’s WestNGN initiative is thrilled to partner with the City of Asheville to bring public WiFi to local transit. Expanding reliable internet access on buses is a game-changer for digital equity, ensuring that riders—whether commuting to work, attending school, or accessing vital services—can stay connected on the go,”stated Sara Nichols, Land of Sky Energy and Economic Development Program Manager.
How to Connect to ART WiFi
Connecting to WiFi on ART buses is simple:
Enable WiFi on your mobile device.
Select the network “ART####” from the available options where #### corresponds to the bus number.
Open your web browser, and follow the prompts to accept the terms of service.
Enjoy free internet access during your ride!
The ART WiFi service is available on all routes and allows riders to browse the web, check emails, and stay connected to important resources while using public transit.
