Howdy Grant here over at River and Earth Adventures, inc. I run a business on the South Fork of the New River in Todd. We lost everything to flooding when the hurricane came through. A house, trailers, 4 vans, and the majority of our equipment. Been building this business for 20 years and the river took it all in a matter of a few hours despite moving it all to higher ground. I have been blessed to have some of my gear returned. However I’m still missing a lot. I am missing 12 Old Town canoes, 8 are red the rest are green. Also missing a bunch of kayaks including Perception Ramblers 13.5, 11.5 and 9.5. If anyone has seen my boats and can help reunite the with me I would be very grateful. We want to update you on the investigation regarding the potential threat we communicated about yesterday. Here’s what we have learned:
A conversation took place between students on a school bus yesterday afternoon. Some of the comments made were unclear, leading another student to perceive them as a potential threat to Hardin Park School. These concerns were then reported by students to their parents (as they should), who promptly contacted law enforcement.
Law enforcement immediately began their investigation and informed the school system. After conducting multiple interviews and examining all available evidence, we have determined that there was no credible threat to the school. However, we will continue to engage in discussions with the students involved to ensure understanding and clarity.
The safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority. We take any report of a potential threat very seriously and are committed to thoroughly investigating every situation to ensure the well-being of our school community.
