We'd like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who has donated candy, costumes, decorations, and their time to make this event happen- we wouldn't have been able to do this without your support!
PS: We'll also have a professional photographer on-site, so make sure to wear your best costume! We look forward to seeing you there!

REMINDER for BCS families and teammates: We will welcome students back to school tomorrow, Oct. 25, on a two-hour delay. Next week (Oct. 28-Nov. 1) we also will operate on a two-hour delay.
Our Student Services team has been working hard to prepare for the emotional wellbeing of our students and staff. We are grateful for the support of additional counselors from neighboring school systems who will come alongside our own teams to support our school family.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your school’s principal.
Thank you again for your grace and strength, and for showing that as a Buncombe County Schools family,
#TogetherWeRise!

By adopting a storm drain, you commit to checking the drain in between rain events and keeping it clear of litter and debris. You can help protect water quality and prevent street flooding from clogged storm drains. Some available storm drains are:
AD1106 is within the Smith Mill Creek Watershed area off of Vandalia Ave. It appears to have been the receptacle of some beige paint in the past (illegal and harmful to aquatic life) and looking for someone to regularly remove some leaves and lawn clippings.
AD1886 is within the Reed Creek Watershed Area at the intersection of Cumberland Ave. and Blake St. It is one of 5 other storm drains in close proximity looking for monthly love during a regular evening stroll.
AD352 is located within the Central Asheville Watershed on Pearl Street. You can see without attention it may continue to direct leaves and sediment into our waterways.
AD1163 is near Riverside Drive and drains directly to the French Broad River. This drain is positioned at the bottom of a steep impervious hill that carries large amounts of leaves during storm events.
AD997 is part of the Smith Mill Creek Watershed off of Louisiana Ave. Although this drain is located on a busier road, it could benefit from regular attention to keep trash, plant litter, and other pollutants from entering Smith Mill Creek.
Check our website at the link below to see if there is an adoptable storm drain near you!

🐾A Woof of Hello!🐾
The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to welcome K9 Brody as our new Therapy Dog.
He is a year-old Goldendoodle (heavy on the poodle, please—just look at the curls) who is very happy to join BCSO and Buncombe County!😍
With a great love of treats and lots of pets, Brody is ready to start serving our community by being a welcoming face (and tail) at various community events, schools, and around county offices, as well as providing support during and after crises with a furry ear, or even just a good supportive lean and curious nose.
👋Next time you see Brody and his handler, Emma, in the community, make sure to say hello!
