Dr. George Washington Carver Edible Park Work Day
Asheville -- April 2024: City of Asheville Community News: You're invited to join our community workday at the Dr. George Washington Carver Edible Park.
This event occurs every 3rd Friday of the month from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm, weather permitting, located at 30 George Washington Carver Avenue, Asheville. Parking is available at the Stephens Lee Recreation Center parking lot, and the knowledgeable Kelly Applegate from Bountiful Cities will be guiding the event.
We'll provide additional tools and hand sanitizer. Your contribution of gloves, loppers, pruners, or weeding tools would be greatly appreciated. Masks are optional.
Engage in a variety of activities such as mulching, light tree and shrub pruning, trash pickup, invasive clearing, and seasonal planting (as available). Hands-on demonstrations of each technique and a guided tour of the park will be included. Join us in supporting Asheville's inaugural edible forest ecosystem and be a part of this remarkable community effort.
These community workdays are proudly presented in collaboration with the City of Asheville.
We eagerly anticipate your participation in the community workday—a day filled with community, sustainability, and enjoyment
